I am celebrating my 60th with family this weekend staying in welshpool. My son and i are hoping to sneak off for a few hours in the mornings and fish at aberchan. Any advice for catching a barbel or two would be most welcome. I am not too steady on my feet these days so can anyone tell me what the banks and access ability is like.

Re: Aberchan

I have only been there once but the water was low and I waded out near the bridge as it was shallow - never again! The stones were like polished glass I'd never experienced anything like it, it was also very overgrown in places so hopefully someone can offer better info than I on stretches slightly further down could offer better access
