I know they are present further down but are there any present in the Hallow/Grimley area?

I haven't heard of any being caught above Diglis myself,but I'd be very surprised if there wasn't any there.

Had a tiny one on the stick at Ladyham last season, no more than two ounces.

I had my PB zander from the Hallow area 13 - 2 oz caught 3 years ago. I have tried many times since and not caught any more so maybe I was just lucky on the day. All I seem to get is jacks up to about 3 lb these days. The river is also very busy with boat traffic so I prefer the Avon most days - I've had two zeds on the Avon and only one on the Severn in the past 8 months. Had a couple of doubles and smaller ones from Uckinghall but I don't think there are as many in there as people make out - if you study the pics of catches you see they are repeat catches. I reckon there are about ten good fish in there - still good fun though on light gear.

Interesting stuff. I've heard of a single capture up at Blackrock and rumours of one at Arley but even if true, these appear to be occasional fish and possibly ones that have been illegally moved. I was sort f hopping that there was a population up as far s Stourport though because that would make them much more accessible to me.
Looks like I'll be targeting the Z's on the Avon and canals come September.

Just how clear does the message need to be about predators?
Time to re-think those rules about live-baiting and taking fish for bait.
