Re: Fundraising for Birmingham Children's Hospital

I would like to Thank Siobhan and her sister for a very pleasant afternoon fishing, they were great company.
She gave me a great insight into how her condition affects her daily life.
We managed to catch some chub, Roach and small Perch too!

she is so looking forward to the cycle challenge on the 12th Sept.
You may think six miles isn't much for a nine year old girl but considering that this time last year she could hardly walk let alone ride a bike. She has come along way. So this is a massive challenge for Siobhan.
She has to take medication every day to live with her condition and be able to live as normal a life possible, trying to do all the things nine year olds do.
Bch has given her hope and confidence to build her life back . And this is why she would like to give something back. Siobhan has had to have numerous MRI scans and this alone is a very scary experience. She is raising money to buy a scanner that will enable parents to talk to there children while being scanned. This will help children to settle while being scanned. She has put a lot of time and consideration into this and we urge you all to dig deep and also to join us on the 12th September. The lads are training hard for this so please support them and dig deep.

Fundraising for Birmingham Children's Hospital

I was walking along our stretch of river at Marlcliff on the Avon as I intend fishing there in the near future. I was just checking out the river and pegs etc.

I often meet and talk to all manner of interesting people.
I bumped into a lady and her children who were out walking their dogs, the story of the one of the girls aged 10 inspired me to share this post with BAA members.

you can read Siobhan's story buy following the links below. simply paste them in to your browser.
Siobhan lives with Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis.
Her enthusiasm for her cause, her positive outlook and zest for life reminded me of just how lucky I am to enjoy my hobby and interests without so much as a care in the world.

My hope is that other members will be inspired to support this young lady in her efforts to raise cash for Birmingham's Children's Hospital.
After all the area served by this Hospital is the same area covered by the BAA.

If nothing else please share the links with people you know. (That's what I'm doing right now)

I wish her well in her efforts and I hope to meet this inspiring young lady again along the banks of the River Avon very soon. If I can get her interested in fishing she may become a member in her own right.

Go for it Chick x best wishes BertyRa
