Re: Pershore barbel

Hi,
I went to the Teme this afternoon and never had a touch.Granted, the Teme doesn't fish great in the winter but with it being mild I actually fancied a fish.I had the water at 9C.I suppose I could have taken some cheese paste and maybe nicked a chub but will try later in the week when the water drops a bit more. Will also take some cheese paste!

Hiya mate,
I'm still traumatised by it this morning. On reflection I have wondered if it was another member trying to catch the fish by hand rather than the conventional method of rod and reel grin

Re: Carp at Bredon

Johnny,
We met at a certain stretch of the Avon and fished it today for 5 hours(limited time I know).I walked up the stretch at Bredon this morning and it's a pretty boring stretch of river with no features so actually went back upstream. I generally fish lakes for carp but have drifted towards the rivers as I love the natural beauty but have been fishing for barbel and chub of late. I know river carp are very nomadic as are big barbel in the lower deeper stretches of rivers so it's never the easiest of fishing Thank you for all the people who posted a response.

Re: Carp at Bredon

I know it's not BAA but it's a nice day ticket stretch and once you get to know Martin the lock keeper it's nice to know he keeps a watchful eye over your vehicle and he doesn't take any nonsense which is good.I think the some of the carp there have probably come from Larford in the floods but who knows.
