Re: Apperley pools walk from parking

I can confirm that there are plenty of pike in the first pool you come too, they are a nuisance when fishing for silver fish ! In the last few years fishing apperley I’ve never caught or seen any sign of carp at all, not caught any bleak either. Plenty of roach,Rudd, skimmers and perch though. Hope that helps ...

Re: Teme Trotting

Another grayling fan, nice to see ! (It’s all barbel & carp thes days ) if you had 37 grayling in August that is amazing ! I really like the teme because of the variety of species when trotting, you never quite know what you’ll catch ! Which stretch of the teme did you fish if you don’t mind sharing ? I usually fish the bransford bridge stretch which is my nearest really.

Re: Underdale fishery just asking at the moment about a fish in ? NOT GOING TO BE DONE NOW

Blimey , just read this thread ! Glad I’m not a match fisherman or a specimen hunter but an old fashioned pleasure fisherman ;)

Re: Naked swimmer at broadwas

Pity there wasn’t a policeman passing as he’d have been done for exposing himself. Given it’s October he was lucky not to get exposure ;)

Re: Teme heaven 2

Had a lovely afternoon trotting maggots last week. 33 fish nearly all chub and dace - just 1 brownie and 1 grayling. The best chub were c 3.5 lb and 3 lb - all on a pint of maggots ......
Nothing wrong with the theme imho unless you are obsessed with barbel. My first 4 casts resulted in trout, chub , grayling and a dace. ... that’s what I call “fishing” ;)
