Re: The River Teme and the introduction of Otters

If man hadn't interfered then they'd have never been a barbel in the Teme in the first place.

Re: Fly tipping

Doesn't help when some of our so called members can't be bothered to shut gates when they have used them. I regularly close a gate near me that is left open and also displaying the code to all and sundry.

Re: Retreat Farm Tench?

Many of you will remember the BAA's finest of all stillwater venues - Walcot. A tench haven set below Walcot Hall, filled with mystery and character. That was allowed to weed up, be ravaged by predators then become completely impossible to fish. BAA let it go. I believe a syndicate took it over, sorted it out and now charge hundreds per year to fish it.

Reading the above sounds ever so familiar.

Re: Marlcliff further habitat destruction

In an era where predation seems to be at its peak, taking away vital cover means that fish stocks will be massively vulnerable. I suspect that the cover won't be the same in 12 months time. What is frustrating is that 'things' seem to happen on BAA stretches and nothing ever seems to be done and no engagement made.

Re: Is our rule legal?

What purpose does it serve? If any rule needs amending then it's the one at national level. Zander have been here for decades and haven't harmed waterways as was predicted. They will certainly be here for many more so killing a few is hardly going to do anything to change the situation other than encourage poaching and inhumane treatment.
