Re: Otters at Nordley

Agree that the outlook is grim. There is very little cover for the fish, and from my experience midweek there are not many anglers about. Perfect conditions for otters to do what they do.

Re: BAA bailiff, Nordely Pools.

I was up there on Tuesday evening and there were I think 5 other cars in the car park.

Re: Nordley - advice please

No problem. The other thing is to pack some floaters. If it's a sunny day (wishful thinking at the moment!) a lot of the carp drift around very visibly on the surface. They are quite cautious but can be taken off the top.

Re: Nordley - advice please

Hi Meatman,
I've fished Nordley the last couple of close seasons and mainly caught carp. Others will have more experience but for what's it worth, here goes. I've mainly caught in the margins with smaller baits such as sweet corn in the evening. Not caught so much further out. I've found Pools one and two to be harder but have larger fish. Other pools have more but smaller. Never had any tench but a couple of bream around four pounds. Doesn't seem to be a big head of silver fish in any of the pools as not really bagged up on maggots. It's a lovely spot and not overfished so why not give it a go?

Re: RE Bailiffing

Plenty of night fishing goes on without a permit. Just come back from the danery, I fished into dark and was leaving the fishery within the hour rule. Others were fishing on, with isotopes on their rod tips. As I drove past the apley parking spots cars still there as well.
