Re: Grayling

Hi Temester, thanks for the advice. I don’t think we will be allowed anywhere in about 2 mins.
But appreciate your input. Thanks for the heads up on the fish care. This is always top of list. I’m used to the barbel, so well rested and ensured a safe release.

Cheers buddy.

Grayling

Hi, any advice on where and how to catch my first grayling. I hear single maggot and no free offerings is the way forward.
More the location really. Obviously I’m not asking for your favourite peg, river and town / village would be helpful.
Cheers people.

Lost and found Barbel rod

I found the butt section of a Korum barbel 12ft cork handle rod. This was at the bridge at Bidford.
It looks brand new?

Get in touch if you have lost one

Re: Still water pike venue, help please

You are quite correct Lee, and any small fish up to 20cm! Although any local clubs do ban the taking / removal of any fish. I can’t believe this is still the case or non club waters. Surely we need to bring the rules in to 2018?
I don’t want to start the red sauce or brown sauce debate, but you would be better off not having a closed season and instagating full ban or removing of any fish all year round. At least this would get policed by the daily angler, and hopefully the bailiffs checking on the anglers?
Game fishing is a different ball game and needs rules and regulating in an complete different way to suit and protect the stocks and species, not an issue.
Don’t we all fish for our own but many different reasons, but we should all put them back to “fight another day” surely?

Re: Still water pike venue, help please

A valid point, I think this is the reason that a i seek past my go to venues. I caught a group of EE’s fishing them the other week. I spoke to them and they were under the impression that could take 1 pike a day out of the river! And all the Zander they caught. I tried to explain and reason with the chap, but they would not listen. Not BAA water I hasten to add. There were 5 / 6 of them.
If they all take one fish, both weekend days every week end, soon adds up to an incredible amount of fish.
I’m going to jump on the canals for a day. The rivers are swollen and coloured any way. Never mind, roll on the Spring
