New water on the Severn

We have secured a lease on a new stretch of the river Severn adjoining our Aberbechan water. The stretch is immediately upstream of Aberbechan and includes Penarth weir, albeit fishing is not permitted in close proximity to the weir itself. The water is best known for producing salmon.

Access is as for Aberbechan, then walk upstream along the Montgomery canal towpath to reach the water.

A new map will be included in the next Guide to Waters. and the Aberbechan 'Where to Fish' page on the website updated when the map etc is available.

Mike Wood, our local bailiff at Aberbechan will put up the BAA signage.

I've added a couple of pictures of the new stretch, which I took when the Fisheries Team were at Aberbechan on the 15th August.

You can fish it from now!
