Retreat Farm Pools re-open

The removal of top mouth gudgeon (TMG) from the three pools at Retreat Farm has been completed by the Environment Agency, and they have given the all-clear to re-open them for angling.

Pools 1 and 2 will therefore be open from Saturday 30th March 2019.

All the carp that were recovered during the TMG eradication process have been put into pool 1.

All the other fish that were recovered during the TMG eradication process have been put into pool 2, the land owner has also stocked pool 2 with crucian carp, therefore this pool contains; tench, crucians, and a few eels and silver fish.

As pool 3 was used as a termporary holding pool for fish from pools 1&2 during the TMG eradication process, it was treated after the fish were returned to pools 1&2 and currently contains no fish.

Please note that the owner of Retreat Farm has put some solar powered 'pingers' in pools 1&2, these are intended to scare away otters, so do not interfere with or remove these items.
