mike.skipper@btinternet.com 2007 British Pike Squad Team Selection Final

Dear Sir, We would like to extend avery warm welcome to any of your members that would like to take part in this years British Pike Squad Team Selection Final which will take place over the weekend of 3rd & 4th of November on waters run by your club, the Warwickshire Avon and the River Severn. We have booked the stretch from Twyning to Wood end and on to Mythe farm (Warwickshire Avon) as well as that from Birds meadow to Ripple (River Severn) for the Saturday. Whilst Sunday’s leg will be held on the stretch from Bidford (left bank) to Marcliff. And from there to Cleeve Prior (Warwickshire Avon). Each of these sections are known to contain a number of pike, and lwith oads of differing features and pace of flow; they will offer loads of differing situations to test angling skills to their utmost. A full list of the rules as well as entry forms are available either directly from myself, or from our website’s competition pages which is available at www.british-pike-squad.co.uk There are only a limited number of places available, so it really is first come first served. Registration for the event will be held at the Swan Hotel in Stourport On Severn on the Saturday morning from 8.15am where weigh cards and ID cards will be issued; and all scales checked for accuracy. Fishing is expected to commence at 11am with the match finishing at 4pm. Meet back at the hotel base after the day's fishing where the results will be posted as quickly as possible. Entry for this years event is £40, inclusive of day tickets for both days, BPS administration fee and pools which will be paid out to the top 3 placed anglers from each day of fishing, plus a prize to the captor of the largest pike overall and the captor of the most pike over the two days. All entry forms to be sent to our treasurers Stu and Louise, by the end of September. Entries after this date, especially those who pay on the day will be charged £45. (Members of the B.A.A. who produce their membership cards will be exempt from this surcharge). Please note that due to the nature of the fishing and distances to be covered combined with steep banks in places, that this match does not favour those with disabilities. You are still more than welcome to come along and compete at your own risk, but be aware of the problems to be faced. We look forward to seeing everyone in November for a few beers in the hotel in the evening, some great banter and hopefully some superb fishing.
