Description3/4 mile of left bank fishing with shallow runs & deep glides. Many salmon are taken here each year plus good coarse fishing for dace, chub & barbel. A very beautiful stretch of river with good access.
Aberbechan: From Welshpool take A483 towards Newtown. Turn right at sign for Llanfair and Bettws parking in field adjacent to Aberbechan Bridge. Gate lock code: 3590

Upstream end of fishery, best approached along canal tow path, with access to fishery through gate on left just passed derelict lock keepers cottage.

Down stream end of fishery just below road bridge, easily reached across field from car park. As you can see all the trees caught behind the bridge supports have been removed by the EA (thanks to our local bailiff Mike for sorting).

Bechan Brook joins Severn at down stream end of fishery, we have fishing on the brook from Severn up to bridge where canal crosses. Probably good to fish when Severn in flood. Easily approached across field from car park.
