I see a lot of CBW'S at Manor Farm,Wasperton have been marked,I assume, for felling. Does anyone know if this work will be carried out before the new season starts? Will the water be closed or have restricted access(for safety reasons) if the work is done after June 16th?

Re: Cricket Bat Willows.

Just found out CBW is harvested between October and March when dormant.
No disruption to opening day and Summer fishing at Wasperton then. Good news.

Re: Cricket Bat Willows.

So,what I was told were cricket bat willows(worth £300 a metre. LOL),weren't. Unless crickets bats come in jigsaw puzzle form or are made of chipboard. The alledged CBW's were put through a chipper and carted away, presumably to be turned into wood pellets for the Drax power station.Contractors made very little mess.
