Re: Anyone catching ?

I'm guessing the answer to that will largely be no, given the big drop in temperatures we've had. I was catching before it dropped cold, but not bothered this last week. Midweek mght offer some hope, following on from a 10c Tuesday.

Re: Anyone catching ?

Caught some nice Perch and a few Roach before this very cold snap, in fact had a pb Perch from Bidford, great to see the Perch back fighting fit. It has been good to target other species, and really enjoying my fishing at the moment.
Don't mind the cold so much, but hate wind.

Hi Malc
Nice to see you getting some replies to your request about catches.
Seeing that you have been drowning maggots for almost as long as myself, then all that I can say is read all the different forums that are on the BAA Forum Page.

Our fellow Associates post some really good messages, and the Photos that accompany some of them just prove that the BAA have some wonderful waters for us to fish.

Also have a look at the current 10 Pictures of the Week on the Home Page as these are posted by Members themselves or on the Upper Severn then you will find photos posted by Mike or Ann Wood, the BAA Bailiffs who are always happy to promote the fabulous fishing to be found on the Upper Severn.

Keep on Fishing

Re: Anyone catching ?

Hi,

I had a session on 19th Nov @ Nordley Pool No3. I thought I would get have session before the cold spell come.

I drew a blank except for a small consolation perch - to be honest I didn't realise I had it on the line as I was using large waggler.

I was switching between waggler & method feeder but still no joy.

It was my 1st cold weather fishing session and only after the event and reading up on best practice I realised I had it wrong. Chucking in lots of liquidised bread with corn and small pellets.

Baits used were:-
Bread
Cheese Paste
Worm
Prawn
Corn

I've had success with these previously but not on this occasion.

Hi Malc. Re: registering for the forums. It's not a simple as it sounds.... I had the same issues and eventually gave up and rang head office to get it sorted. Hence why I'm registered from Nov 2020 even though I've been using these forums for a couple of years.

Re: Anyone catching ?

My old computer had a makeover by way of chucking out all the rubbish that has been saved over the years...it is really fast now, so many of us just go out and buy new, and so it starts all over again. Make sure you save all those precious fish captures though, and anything else of a lesser importancesmiling

Re: Anyone catching ?

I've had a few nice grayling on 2 recent Teme sessions - I'd never caught a grayling until last week (it was my first time on the Teme in about 30 years !!) so it's been a bit of a buzz to do something different - A couple of them have been just over a pound too - great fighters aren't they smiling

Hi Gav,

Great to read that you had Grayling from the Teme, like you, I had not been on the Teme for many years and caught my first Grayling from there last season, beautiful fish.

Keep on Fishing

Re: Anyone catching ?

That's a corker BarbelGod - You've obviously named yourself well - Were you on relatively light tackle then if you were chubbing or did you stay beefed up "just in case" ?
