Arley Harbour Inn stretch

Me and a mate went there Wednesday. 2 guys were already fishing in the only accessible pegs at the end of the first field so we went through the gate into the second field. We walked the length of the field but could not find a fishable peg.
We moved to Blackstone instead. While we were there a contractor arrived to strim the banks, they were already pretty good. He told me that they had done Arley earlier in the season. Well it certainly needs doing again and some platforms built.

So you are suggesting there’s only 2 fishable pegs in the two fields at Harbour waters? Are you sure you’ve got the right venue as I’ve walked it several times recently and there’s loads of pegs available. The fact that you’ve suggested platforms at Arley leads me to believe you haven’t been fishing rivers for long and expect platforms and steps on every peg.At all the venues where it is permitted the BAA will put platforms in,this is where the club own the land and not just the fishing rights.Arley and most of the most of the middle Severn is owned by Arley estates or the National Trust and the BAA just lease the fishing rights and are not allowed to install platforms.

Exactly Chris, someone has been there today and counted at least 7-8 perfectly fishable pegs in each meadow. And this before the second cut back due shortly.People need to realise it’s the Middle Severn and you’re fishing a natural venue not Woodlands View or Larford.
