Indeed the 2019 floods was exceptionally harsh and i can remember thinking at the time what damage it would have done for our 2020 season, i know we have always had floods and barbel manage them very well, but 2019 floods were relentless on the Severn week after week. Some swims i new last year ( and years previous ) was always occupied by barbel, almost a get out of jail card if you fell short in other swims, but this year no one's home after many hours trying ?

Two chaps from London was talking to me last week, they visit the middle Severn every year and no doubt new the game but after four days fishing they had not one barbel between them, asking me as a local for some helpful advice/swims i could not help them
