RiverNovice. Indeed chap, I'm old and grumpy and increasingly cynical about all the stuff out there, I've bought plenty of it in the past but don't think any of it made any difference to my catch, if folks like gadgets and enjoy using them that's fine, the object is to have a nice day out. After fishing for nearly 60 + years I came to the conclusion all you need to catch is food on the hook and hungry fish. I think each to their own sums it up, just enjoy it.

PS I have a dozen rods supposedly for different tactics, half those bought within the last three years (why I ask myself) sucked in by reading you need this that and the other, I think I catch less now than when I just had one float rod and one ledger rod ...... simple is best.
