Four anglers from Norfolk, who have been visiting the Middle Severn for a number of years have just completed their annual visit with bumper catches. Fishing below Bridgnorth (they did not want me to say where!), over 4 days they caught 288 barbel in total, with the best individual catch for the visit being 103. The barbel were from 4/5lbs up to 9.5lbs, good sized roach were also caught. The baits used were halibut and red robin pellet with more success being had on the smaller pellet size, small pellet and hemp were used in the feeder and a good long hook length of about 4 feet below the feeder. The river was up about a foot at the start of the visit but dropping and clearing.
