Fished Fladbury today and landed my first ever pike in over 40 years of fishing.
Caught on the stick float/ maggot and lip hooked. Main line 3lb with 1.1/2 lb bottom to size 20 barbless.
The fish was probably 4 or 5lbs - not too sure to be honest but it was about 30 inches in length.
I released it a few pegs further down stream.
Chuffed to bits about this catch as I have had numerous ones on in the past but never landed one!

It's funny that they'll take a maggot, my first pike was also caught on a mag from the salwarpe in the 1980s
