I’ve fished Pensham recently and had some nice Perch & Roach. I can’t seem to get through them to anything else. Would like to target the Bream that are alleged to be there. I live to far away to pre-bait. Any advice on swims/baits/ tactics please?

Re: Pensham advice

Groundbait feeder is going to give you best chance of bream, casting regular to a spot getting a bed of bait down so if they come past you can hold them long enough to catch a few.
If you want to the fish the float or pole perhaps use a bait dropper, or ball some groundbait in at the start.

Thanks Stew. I fished in the spinney with a feeder using worm & maggot but couldn’t get past the Perch, although I did have one real cracker.
Caught Breamthere lat year on 8mm halibut pellet. Not sure if that is the best way to go to avoid the Perch?

Re: Pensham advice

The best advice I’ve got is like stew said plenty of ground bait to hold them...and I mean don’t be shy, I normally put in between 10 and 15 tennis ball size balls laced with hemp corn chopped worm even maggots. Throw them in at the start while I’m setting up and just wait ,,,keep dropping a feeder full over the top every 10 minutes or so depending on the response and you may have to wait an hour or so before they turn up but they normally do, and when they do find it they should stay while your feeding them.....plus the roach and perch will move out .......also try the lower end of the stretch as it’s deeper down there.........good luck..mischievous
