Hi Guys

Fairly new to the BAA waters and looking at fishing as many streches of the rivers and pools as I can. Managed to catch a couple of nice barbel and a chub over 41/2 lb yesterday on the Severn. I'm looking at fishing Retreat pools in the week, has anyone fished there recently and how are they fishing. I've read some of the older reports and wondered if things had got any better.

Any comments or advice is appreciated

Re: Retreat Farm

Hi, as I've commented before there are a few carp left so don't expect to bag up, there are thousands of tiny tiny carp so future years look promising.

Hi Stew

Thanks for the update mate

A couple of hours catching miniature carp could be fun. For me it's never been about baggin up it's just about relaxing and watching the world go by, any fish is just a bonus.

Re: Retreat Farm

I've fished Pool 1 3 times in the last few weeks. Strong line required as they are ruthless fighting Mirrors averaging 10 to 12lb but I've had them to 14lb. Margins or near the island and all pegs all fish well.

Small baits best with punched meat and bread but don't expect to catch 20 to 30 fish like when it was first stocked. Best day was last Wednesday with 9 fish netted.

Pool 2 rammed with small Rudd and tench but there are some monster carp being caught, one witnessed at over 16lb.

Again 4mm expanders, corn and pellet over pellet feed for a fish a chuck on the pole
