Re: Severn stoke

Brinky it depends on what you are hoping to catch ? if it's barbel you are after . I think you will struggle to catch . Odd fish are still being caught . Best bet is to fish in to the last hour of light . Best advice is to wait until we get some decent rain ? It appears every one is struggling on the Lower at the moment to catch any barbel . Cant comment if its bream you are after . Hope that helps ,

It's done two 14's, one of which was last week whilst it still had a bit of water on. Now though, is most definitely the time to avoid it. High pressure and this hot weather, coupled with the river being on its arse again, makes it pointless for barbel. The bream have also been largely absent on the Lower this season, totally different to last season, when they virtually crawled up the rods.
There has been plenty of chub about though, to the point where you can't fish meat as the chub just destroy it within a few minutes. I've had 18 or 19 sessions on the Lower this season, I've caught barbel on just 4 of them!

Re: Severn stoke

J C some time ago I came in for a lot of criticism when I told every one about Nafford and the fish that was being caught from there . and here you are telling every one Severn Stoke has just done two 14's You have to admit that a 14 lb fish is a good fish . So perhaps could you explain why its OK for to disclose that two 14's was caught from Severn Stoke ?

You have also said in the past and the quote from a previous post by you is below

''It's the same everywhere mate. On occasion, Severn Stoke will throw up a 15, and if the news is made semi-public, the stretch will be rammed a week later with fish chasers, even though any angler with a brain will know the fish has long gone. I don't agree with naming stretches either, I'm with Neil on that one.

Here is another quote by you.You posted some time ago

''Peachy - I don't think it's part of any rules as such, and to answer your question, I'd say it's a "barbel thing" if I'm honest. I know it gets up some people's noses, and I can understand why really. I did suggest in a different thread last week about etiquette amongst barbel anglers, but at the end of the day it's up to individuals.''
For instance, if, say a 15lb barbel comes out at Severn Stoke, which occasionally happens, it's generally kept quiet amongst the serious barbel boys. If it isn't, then I can guarantee there'll be 20 cars there the weekend after, all chasing a fish which has long since moved on.''

So tell me J C You say its generally kept quiet amongst the serious barbel boys and its about etiquette ? So going by what you have already stated was is etiquette to say that two 14's were caught from Severn Stoke recently ? You say you agree with Neil when it comes to naming stretches ? and here you are telling every one that two 14's have recently come out of Severn Stoke ?

Re: Severn stoke

You've trawled though all my previous comments to find that Jeff?

You've obviously got far too much time on your hands methinks. I know EXACTLY when and even what swims the fish came from, and currently it matters not a jot, with the high pressure/warm weather/low water combination.

Everyone knows SS throws up good fish now and again, it's hardly a secret, and you can't compare it to Nafford, which incidentally, YOU named. I didn't name SS, someone asked a question.I fish the Lower Severn more than pretty much anyone else on this forum, it's up to me if I wish to throw out a few hints.

Here's some more advice Jeff.

1. Jog on.
2. Grow up.

JC.

Re: Severn stoke

J C Brinky asked the question ,Any reports on how Severn Stoke is fishing and which meadows are best ?

and you replied Its done two 14's , one of which was last week whilst it still had a bit of water on and now is the time to avoid it Yes every knows Severn Stoke throws up good fish from time to time

I would suggest you read back and have a look at what you wrote ? I would be interested to know what you meant when you said '' Its done '' Which means you were talking about Severn Stoke which to me clearly means that you were saying two 14's came out of Severn Stoke .

Its there in black and white and now you are trying to back track on what you said and what you meant . So please don't lecture me

Re: Severn stoke

Trying to backtrack?

Don't make me laugh Jeff. I know what I said, it was me that said it. The phrase "it's done two 14's", means two 14 pounders have come off the stretch. Nothing new really for SS. Standard stuff, I should know, I fish there enough.

You are just trying to cause arguments/problems again, as you keep doing with Neil.

Im sure Brinky is pleased enough with the info I have him - it's up to date and concise.

Off you go.

Re: Severn stoke

Give it a rest Jeff, John was just being helpful with advice, he has been extremely guarded as to locations, but events have rather overtaken the need for keeping shtum, last time I was there everyone knew about that big old girl. We have all had her it seems she likes the company of Barbel anglers, have you been introduced?

Re: Severn stoke

How sincere, not! How about putting something up about your exploits on here, or come to that anywhere ? That would be a change from trawling through others captures and then attempting to ruin the stretch by social media. Anoniminity is your friend, you have been doing this for years, except you lies were exposed, and you recreated another persona and kept going. I don't know why you do this, I suspect neither do you.
You are an odd one, at least I and Johnny? do fish, not even sure you do, John has a passion for what he does, and he was mereley helping a fellow angler, but you seized on it to try and discredit him, he never attributed the fish to himself, but you did on here without his permission, and as usual disclosed not only the capture but also the location.
You have posted up on here videos of me and my sons enjoying a perfectly normal session, and attempted to discredit me by saying I harmed the fish. What is your motivation? If you need help seek it, I am a hopefully a decent bloke, and will listen to anything that might be troubling you, but please cease from all this vitroil, and move on.

Re: Severn stoke

Neil lets get a few facts right ? Yes I posted a video and not videos as you suggest ? So you have that fact wrong ? I was just pointing out the fact that J C had broken is own code of etiquette from comments he had made in the past about disclosing where fish were caught . So when some one asked '' How is Severn Stoke fishing . J C replies '' Its done two fourteens '' Its there in black and white ...Maybe its J C you should be talking to and not me about disclosing where fish are being caught . Neil if you have a problem with what I post , I would suggest you move on and stop winding your self up ?

Re: Severn stoke

I didn't "break my own code of etiquette". It's a waste of time fishing SS right now. Me saying I was aware of a couple of 14's makes no odds currently, you could fish there for the next week, and not catch a barbel. As for Neil speaking to me, well that's already happened and we are in agreement that you're talking rubbish.

As for winding folk up, there's only one person doing that on this thread, and it ain't Neil or me. Go fishing Jeff, on the river, and not on here.

Why can't people just go fishing, and concentrate on their own fishing rather criticising other people's.

This forum was supposed to be about helping members, so why carry on about people helping others out.
If you want to be secret squirrels and don't want to share your information and help others why sign up to the forum.

I like reading the match reports to see whats been caught, they don't moan at me for fishing where they've done well.
Fair play to John for sharing, it doesn't mean we'll all be jumping in his swim, but shows us fish are there in that stretch to catch

Re: Severn stoke

Neil in answer to you saying that I should seek help ? Maybe its you that needs some help . Given your recent illness which you told every one about on here . Then the virus struck 6 months ago which given your health condition is putting you at high risk . Just may be it is effecting your mental well being going by some of the things you have posted recently . It cant be easy for you given your present circumstances and to make things worse It looks like another total lock down is on the way . There is help out there You only have to go and ask ?

Re: Severn stoke

Without a doubt to reach so far into my personal life, either medical, family videos, and fishing movements is weird, and frankly a bit sinister. You now use Covid as a weapon, coupled with my age and illness.
This is obsessive behaviour, and you really might consider looking for some help, this is a genuine comment, it seems you need some counselling.
