Hi guys,

Preference - being more suited to barbel fishing than carp ( extra bonus of not having to buy extra reels when the rivers closed).

I want to upgrade my barbel reels and was wondering if i went for the higher end of reels whether i would also be able to use them for a little bit of carp fishing?!

I have been looking at the shimano x aero ra 6000 series,

Any other suggestions would be appreciated! ( i mostly fish the Severn and avon.)

Cheers

nothing wrong with the 6000,
some may say bit big for barbel fishing. but think how long you actually hold the rod for.
and you can use for carp fishing too.
the 5000s are excellent too as these are my main fishing reels ( barbel bream and tench )
