Stacklands gate padlocked

Hi,
Can we ask the farmer if the gate can be unlocked please - quite a walk to the top end of the beat with waders and all the usual fly fishing gear. I know the sheep are in the field but have driven to the parking spot previously without letting any escape, if that's his reason.
Thanks
Glen
PS: the Wye is as low as I have seen it in August so not really worth fishing at present, but hope to get some rain at some point.

Re: Stacklands gate padlocked

The gate at Stacklands is no longer padlocked. Please ensure that the gate is properly shut at all times, only drive to the car park, do not drive across the field, respect the farmer's land and sheep.

Thanks John.
To be clear you mean drive along to the spaces next to the hut?

Only drive on the track to the parking area by the hut, not across the field and not to the banks.

As it is. The river is as low as it was during the 2018 heatwave. Thankfully we haven’t had the heat experienced then so the water temperature is still safe for fishing, not that there are any salmon in the river!

WyeAngler - thanks. I fished last weekend just to get some casting practice with the spey rod - it was fun but as you say no chance of a fish at present.
