Getting back on the rivers after forty years has been a complete joy. I'm amazed at how much i have remembered, and fascinated by the changes in tackle and baits. I have caught some big river bream, my first ever big barbel, and been back on my favourite river - the Wye which still brings net fulls of Dace & chub and now small Barbel, but sadly not so many roach as i remember. One fish i have caught on the Wye is a mystery to me, i have no idea what it is, can anyone identify it from the attached picture.

Re: Unidentified fishI must have been about 10 last time I caught a minnow. But thanks for identifying it. I would never have remembered what a minnow looked like.

Re: Unidentified fishYes, definitely a minnow, but the biggest I have seen for a long time - could be a British record !

Re: Unidentified fishHaving seen the photo of the fish I can add to the many comments posted that it is a huge Minnow. It dwarfs the one that took my worm and maggot combo on the Severn in the Summer.

Re: Unidentified fishSalmonids have adipose fins. The fish pictured doesn't. It's a minnow.
