Re: Annual Fee and Fees for Months RemainingWith membership numbers up over 2000 more than at this point last year we must be doing something right!

Re: Annual Fee and Fees for Months RemainingThe great majority of new members will be fair weather fishermen wanting to do something in the great summer conditions. Come wind, rain, frost and snow they will disappear until next spring. Offering a concession now is unlikely to bring in more than a handful of new members and it will be interesting to see if there is a drop in numbers next year.

Re: Annual Fee and Fees for Months RemainingOf course the Covid problem contributed the increase in membership, with so many having time off work. My thoughts would be a June to June season or even better like the rod licence 12 months from when you joined, although not sure if any other clubs operate the latter.

Re: Annual Fee and Fees for Months RemainingI've always thought it would be a good idea to do a 6month membership for maybe £25 for adults, some might think twice about paying the full amount for 6months fishing.

Re: Annual Fee and Fees for Months RemainingCorrect me if I am wrong BAA membership has not gone up in the last four or five years ? £40 Adult and £30 for a senior . That works out at less than £1 a week . We all know the state of the riverbanks on some stretches the BAA have . So if the BAA is going to employ contractors to clear banks . Then how else are they going to propose the undertaking of such work . With out raising subs ?

Re: Annual Fee and Fees for Months RemainingSome interesting points but in comparison to other memberships even for 6 months it’s a bargain,we have people coming from all over the country who are more than happy to pay it for just 3-4 day’s fishing. Some of these big carp venues charge that for a night. If membership was in decline then obviously the cost would need to be assessed but as it stands it’s doing more than well.
