Having restricted myself to local commercials since November it was great to give the middle Severn a go last week and yesterday, And I must say it’s been the best start to a new season for years18 barbel overall but yesterday I also had 3roach over a pound each all the fish were in mint condition all the best

Re: Back on the SevernWell done Rob on your best start of a new season with 18 barbel from the middle Severn. Nice to see that roach are still being caught as well . I think the middle Severn is fishing better than the lower Severn at the moment Rob.

Re: Back on the SevernNice start Rob. From what I have witnessed/heard this has been the best start to a river season for a few years. I've had some great sport on the float, catching as many barbel as chub, which hasn't been the case for, well, ever! Seems to plenty of fish about so far.

Re: Back on the SevernThanks guys I had a holiday angler is the next peg to me he landed 11fish as well. But it was the quality of the roach that impressed me the most good to see plump redfins in the river

Re: Back on the SevernAs far as baa fisheries go I would say anywhere above Shrewsbury could be regarded as upper Severn, and the middle from Shrewsbury to around holt fleet that would be my rough guide but I’m sure other anglers would say differently.
