Re: BUSHLEY 20 POUND PIKE PHOTO ?

it's the norm for this website Ian....take a look at some of the barbel and the silly weights that anglers have stated on those. 15lb middle severn, and 16lb Avon fish. Give me strength.

It makes a nonsense of any genuine weights on here.

I have to admit it doesn't matter to me if people are overstating weights, but whenever I talk to other angler's on the bank it's usually the first thing that comes up . Hopefully the more you guys keep posting on the subject it will stop happening so much

To be fair, if it's publicity the captors are after (especially the barbell) then send them into the weekly mags as a 15/16lb Warks Avon barbel is front page stuff!

Indeed. As proven by Doherty and his supposed 17.9 from last year.

After a spell with bream, he's now moved on to faking chub weights.

Re: BUSHLEY 20 POUND PIKE PHOTO ?

why do people do it ??? is it just a guestimate weight ? do they have inaccurate scales ? is it just rounded up to the nearest weight that looks good ? is it weighed in a 4 pound keepnet wet ?? or s
imply do not carry scales but it looked that weight ?? the list is endless we will never no !!.
if a fish is not weighed correctly please just state I had no scales but I put a guess at such a weight be honest to yourself an others please

Re: BUSHLEY 20 POUND PIKE PHOTO ?

I'm a pleasure angler, and don't particularly target specific species - but I did find myself fishing a venue, holding mainly carp, and for a couple of years I spent most of my fishing outings there. It wasn't a commercial fishery, but it was rumoured that a few of the fish went to about 25lb. I'm 54 years old and I've been fishing since I was about 8. . . . . . . and I have never caught a fish of 20lb or above. I've had lots of fish from this venue, and lots of them have been mid teens, but my two biggest were 19lb 6oz & 19lb 12oz. . . . . . . I could have taken photo's of either of them, and they'd have passed off as 20's. . . . . . . . . I don't know what I'm really trying to say here, maybe it's just that I can't understand why somebody would blatantly lie about the size of a fish - they're only fooling themselves. I would love to say I'd caught a 20 - but I know. . in my heart . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I'm still four f**kin' ounces off it.
