Tried my luck at Cleeve Prior yesterday (08.09.22). Had one hit then an EA chap appeared looking for an oar they lost the previous day. They had electro-fished 100m for a survey and found nothing of significance apart from one large pike and a number of small roach and bleak. He said the small fish had exhibited signs of Popeye disease, which is caused by excessive bacteria in the water. This in turn is a sign of sewage pollution. He mentioned a treatment works slightly further upstream so they were obviously aware of a problem. Whether they take any effective action remains to be seen but at least they know something is going on.
