Hello Fellow D’anglers,
As a final review of the Canals that the BAA Guide to Waters 2023 lists, this is what I have to add to what is an excellent publication. On page 86 you will see the map of the Coventry Canal Fradley.
On the map you will see the Hay End Road comes to a junction with Gorse Lane carry on across to the Fradley Junction, before the Canal Bridge turn left up the drive to the
Canal & River Trust Car Park. It is a Pay by Phone you will require
Location Code: 89057
Card Payment Details which can only be the following :- Visa / mastercard / maestro
Your Vehicle Registration
Then Call: 0330 400 7275
Cost: £2.50 per day.
Walk along T&M Canal to the Coventry Canal Junction to access the upper stretch of the Canal.
Walking down the canal you then reach Bridge 91, Gorse Lane
Gorse Lane runs off Hay End Road and roadside parking is available with access to the Towpath.
From Gorse Lane Bridge 91 you can walk up towards the Fradley Junction, or down towards a new bridge 90A that carries Turnbull Lane with no access to the Canal.
Bridge 90 carries Bridge Farm Lane which is off Hay End Road and the Lane is Blocked to through traffic at the Bridge. Roadside parking is available with access to the Canal Towpath.
Access to the canal here will allow you to walk down to Bridge 89 the A38.
From the A38 Southbound immediately before the Canal crossing you can turn left into Brookhay Lane.
Parking is available alongside the Canal in Brookhay Lane, until you get to the junction at Bridge 88.
At Bridge 88 there is an added complication with the Railway Level Crossing, with limited parking due to restrictions for HGV and Long Loads crossing the railway.
I hope this helps you to exploit the fishing potential of the Coventry Canal at Fradley.
Keep on Fishing…

Re: Coventry Canal Fradley Junction to Bridge 86
i know that stretch of canal well, my mate used to rent it before the b.a.a. took it on. silver fishing not brilliant but there are some very big fish in there. my mate was obsessed with catching carp from canals so much so that he rented his own stretch. had many late evenings up there with him. i'd go home about midnight while he would stay all night. caught some lovely carp from there that had never been caught before as no one ever fishes for them.
