Would it be reasonable to assume that the BAA, which I believe is the biggest fishing club in the country, could or would put pressure on the R&C Trust and the government to open waters for fishing again as the situation eases. Fishing is after all, generally speaking, a pretty solitary pastime and fishing protocol ensures you don't plonk yourself right next to someone else, there could be an every other peg rule on commercials maybe. It does seem ridiculous when I could be out all day and barely see a soul let alone stop for a chat with anyone. Six weeks of glorious weather and can't wet a maggot. Getting frustrated !!

Re: LOCKDOWN.

Irrespective of BAA's size and clout, I cannot say whether BAA have the ears of government or other connections which would make such representations effective. However the Angling Trust is doing just what you've mentioned and have developed a well thought through, phased strategy for a return which has incorporated informed and influential sources. See posts on 'when we fish again'. As the tags show YOU can add your voice very easily (and thereby enhance the clout).

Re: LOCKDOWN.

Take a look at the Angling trust web site. They are our biggest representatives and are working to get anglers back on the water.

Re: LOCKDOWN.

gb123, the biggest angling club in the country by far is Prince Albert Angling Society with over 10,000 members and over 200 waters.

Re: LOCKDOWN.

The last report about BAA membership I saw, there were over 12,000 and rising with over 200 miles of water.
When you look at the Prince Albert fees, it proves what good value our own BAA is.
They are as follows
£130 per year plus £100 joining fee.
Pensioners after five years membership get a £40 reduction.

Re: LOCKDOWN.

Tracker, the BAA had over 70,000 members in the 1970's. I would be very surprised if they had 10,000 today. By the way it's Prince Albert not Prince of Wales.
