Hello Fellow d’anglers,
Having gone to Lichfield to shop, I then took a short journey to the T&M Canal at Fradley Junction.
A reconnaissance as it were!

I have attached a photo looking from the Fradley Lock towards Alrewas.

As no one was fishing I took the opportunity to talk to one of the resident boat owners.

He told me that he does to see many anglers, although he did add that the Predator anglers that fish it do have good size Pike and Zander!

It certainly looks a nice stretch so as Arnie famously said “I’ll be back”

Keep on Fishing

Re: Trent & Mersey Canal - Fradley

Hi pal Walsall and district own the fishing rights from about 400 yds bellow wood end lock where the culvert goes under the canal. They own the fishing rights all the way till the Crown pub at Armitage Handsacre.

It was electro fished over a year ago and they only removed 3 zander from Fradley junction all the way up to Handsacre, so they concluded the zander had not spread in any numbers from the coventry canal up above Fradley junction. I have a copy of the report.

As said it can get very busy with boats at times which can be a nightmare. These areas are very popular with lure anglers as there are some amazing perch to be caught. Also large shoals of bream and chub along those sections. I have not fished the Baa section for a few years now but it used to fish really well on evening sessions.

Take a look at our facebook page Walsall and district and you will see some of the fish caught by a local angler around that area.

all the best Dave

Another canal ruined by the canal and river trust and their contractor MEM with their electrofishing antics.
