What amount of bankside clearance/peg enhancement are members allowed to do?

As I discovered yesterday when I visited Lindridge on the Teme for the first in over 30 years, there is some serious work needed to make it more fishable.

So what are we as individual members allowed to do?

Are we allowed to chop back vegetation to get to the waterside?
Are we allowed to prune branches or cut down trees?
Are we allowed to cut out the side of a bank to get down to the water?
As all I want to do is

A good question!
You're not the only one who would benefit from such knowledge and having stumbled on your post in December, it's disappointing you've had no answer so far. I'm going to post this note as a new message to see if someone can assist.
I recently tried the Trent at Handsacre but the pegs seemed to be suffering from a lack of attention which made the fishing unnecessarily difficult. The fact the stretch has a general reputation for being a bit 'hit and miss' probably accounts for my complete blank (that and talent) but it certainly felt a bit neglected.
Most swims had overgrown trees or bushes impacting the immediate downstream stretch which turned the pegs into 'bays'. It made trotting a float almost impossible unless you were prepared to chuck a Waggler into the strong flow in the middle. Even then, the trot was restricted by the angle towards the imposing growth and I'd be surprised if the general default method here wasn't ledgering as a consequence.
No-one (I think) wants to see bank sides completely cleared of any character but my early soundings as a new member are that the stretches near me in Staffordshire have potential but generally suffer from a lack of attention? It appears to me all the interest and focus is on everything west/south of Brum?
I too, would be happy to indulge some prudent housekeeping that would assist fishability and maintain natural integrity, but, like you, don't want to fall foul of any local or club restrictions.

Back in November last year I posted this message below
