It's good to see baa trying to recruit junior members with the event at coppice, but it's a sorry state that the last post on here was over 2years ago. Just wonder how many junior members there actually are in the association?
Drop the subscription down to £2 baa then you might get more joining perhaps then they might get hooked for life.

Re: Junior members

Even better crag! Seeing James Robbins videos on YouTube brought back memories of starlet days fishing with him in the 80s, Ken and Janice Aske deserve a huge amount of respect for what they did to get kids into fishing.

Re: Junior members

I also get kids fishing, and think back to my youth to help keep them fishing.
Back then I used to be a member of a club as fishing club waters enabled me to fish more often. A day on a day ticket fishery was a luxury, and to be fair wasn't any more productive than the club waters, but a change water.

I'm sure if you keep them fishing they'd join when they're old enough to be an adult member, so by giving them a free membership is sourcing the future membership. But I would add that free junior membership should be for juniors who have a parent /guardian who are also members to help promote adult membership.

This was my suggestion for the questionnaire we were given a few years ago.

If the kids get the bug they will come back to the sport in adult life.

Nice to see free membership for ages 12 and under, hopefully it'll get a few more youngsters into angling! smilingsmilingsmilingsmiling
