Thought it would be remiss to not pay tribute to Ken Aske on this forum. What Ken did for junior angling in Birmingham can never be underestimated, and there will be hundreds of successful anglers for whom the Starlets were a great launchpad. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Starlets, learning something new every week, and the knowledge and experience acquired have held me in good stead.

Thanks Ken, and may you rest in peace.

Re: Ken Aske RIP

I was a member during the early to mid-nineties and have fond memories of those days. Ken and Janice gave up a lot of time every week to take us out all over the place. RIP.

Sad loss both Ken and Janice! I dont think we will see the likes of these pair ever again, the amount of time love and commitment they put into youth angling in the west midlands was unbelievable. God bless thanks for the memories.

David Harley.
