Today’s Halesowen RBL club match was moved from Stourport on the Severn to the Staffs-Worc canal at Caunsall.19 fished.
Fished very poor with 6 dry nets.
1st-Brian Smith-6-9-0.Roach on caster and a Perch 2lb 4oz.
2nd-Robert Evans-4-8-0.Perch and a Bream 4lb.
3rd-Steve Sadler-1-10-0.Roach on the punch.
4th-Andy Sloan-0-14-0.Roach on the punch.

Saw an otter on the canal at caunsal yesterday, guessing its eat all the fish in the adjacent river stour and now moved onto the canal!

Are you sure it was an otter?One of our members thought he saw one but it was a mink,there were several families of mink up and down the stretch,obviously they cause massive damage too but maybe not as much as an otter would,although there are otters in the stour and on the staffs-worc.

Yes I reckon it was,I've seen them in the stour which is no more than a stones throw from the canal, seen them at stourton castle too, not what you want to hear is it, very worrying.

goosander on the smestow too just above where it joins the stour,there's even a pair of cormorants on Mary Stevens park pool in stourbridge not good news for fish population.
