Why is there NO Feedback from Contests?

Hello fellow dAnglers
In looking at the Match Fishing Forum I have seen that there have been 147 Topics raised that have generated 297 replies that go back several years!
Looking at the Waters Booked for Contests this October 2020 there are 53 Venues that have been booked!!
What would be really useful for “Us Non-Matchmen” to know is how are these venues fishing when put to the test in a contest, therefore can the Secretary from the Clubs booking these waters feedback as some clubs currently do, with the following details
1) How many fished
2) How many weighed in, with the weights
3) The successful methods
4) What was caught
5) A photo of the winning catch?

I agree, match results give a broader picture as how a venue is fishing, be good for the association too to keep an eye on their waters, should the baa make it compulsory for clubs to report their results?

Hi Ollie
I have just replied to the great catches that your club took from the Hinksford stretch over 70lb from the Top 6 anglers was brilliant and your details on the species that you caught.

If only Every Club that books a stretch were to report back as you and some of the other clubs do then all of us would be more aware of how the waters are fishing or IF there might be problems with the pegs or accessibility

As I stated in my original post I counted up over 50 venues booked for this month Oct-2020, it would be great IF we got 50 Match Catch Reports submitted from the clubs that have booked them, or feedback if anything was wrong with the venue.

Just to point out the average age of most clubs now might be a factor. The clubs that have these matches might not come on this forum so that could could be why the feedback doesn’t match up the matches booked.

Hello Stew83mul
You may have something there, however IF there was a way to encourage the clubs to provide even limited feedback would be something more than nothing.
Keep on fishing

Re: Why is there NO Feedback from Contests?

Hello fellow dAnglers
I have just put a reply on the Travellers Match Report from Arley thanking them for their Comprehensive feedback.

The winning method was “Hair Rigged Worm” that produced 3 Barbel for a combined weight of over 12lb. They were caught on an inside crease. Not bad from a rising river.

I honestly believe that if we share our methods it may help us all to become better fishermen, and I have been a fisherman from the age of 5 and I am 67 now and still learning.
So Keep Fishing
