Re: Any ideas?

If its chub you are targeting ? Then I suggest you switch to using a closed cap feeder and stop using sweet corn if you are trying to avoid catching roach ? and instead switch to using banded pellet on the hook and small pellets in the feeder and maybe you will have less of a problem with roach attacking your baited hook and feeder. Other wise I am guessing what ever you do, You will continue to get bites that you can not hit

Re: Severn Pollution Levels

It may be fine now, What happens when we get some heavy prolonged rain ? and we get the run of from the fields next to the river ? Also if the rivers levels are high,Will Severn Trent water start pumping raw sewerage straight in to the river like they have done so many times in the past?

Re: Any ideas?

You don't say what your target fish are that you are hoping to catch ? Roach,Chub or Barbel.First of all I would suggest you stop using luncheon meat at this time of the year,If the river is low and clear.Other wise you will have problems with eels I am guessing some of the bites you are getting are from small roach and thats why you are having problems hooking them. You could try a hair rigged smaller hook size 12 or 14 with either one or two grains of corn and make your hook length longer. If you are still having problems hitting bites then go to a even smaller hook with just one grain of corn straight on the hook.

Just be warned that a barbel might come along and decide to pick up your bait ?

Re: QUESTION: River Severn - Severn Stoke, Bushley,Ripple, Apperley - Swim acessability

Paul forget Bushley or Apperley. Ripple you can drive along the bank, Severn Stoke is not to bad for access, If the levels are low then you may have to scramble down the bank. A dog spike and rope would help. Birds meadow you can also drive along the bank, The only problem with Birds meadow is the steep hill driving down to the river and then getting back up , Easy if you have a 4x4 ?
