Meatman, that is exactly how i have caught on the stoke stretch, using a large bread band, having it dangle over the reeds also allows you to control depth if your bread eventually sinks. However doesn't feel the best 'bullying' them out of the reeds when you catch.

I will have to have a few more strolls on the evenings and throw some free offerings in at some memorable spots.

Birmingham Worcs Canal

Yesterday I walked all the way from Blackpole to Stoke Prior. The stretch from Tibberton to Hanbury wharf, well what a lovely stretch it is. I am on a mission to find some canal carp and I am not fussed about size i just like the thought of finding wild ones. I have been told that their is a few sightings by the Eagle and Sun and that is the same stretch that goes for miles backs tibberton.

I saw several large shoals of silver fish some close to a foot long at Dunhampstead if that interests any locals.

I know that their is a good few in the Stoke Prior section but there was at least 15 people fishing it when i strolled past and i want to find a more secluded spot.

Does anyone have any experience or stories of fishing a long that section or at Blackpole or any other places around this area.

Many Thanks Ben
