Re: My the pool/ ukinghall

Have you seen stubs lately, severely overgrown, and I've never seen so much weed on a pond in my life , it's so thick you couldn't hit the bottom if you tried and it's completely took over the lake on the surface and the bottom , the first time I seen stubs was years ago and it never had a weed problem , and it was a stunning little lake , and some of you saying check the rivers first but I'm not a river fisherman I have probably fished 2 rivers in 29+ years I fish pools and nearly every pool I've ever fished are made to take extra water as they have overflow system so I've never had to check river levels in nearly 30 years of fishing, and as I said I have only joined baa this summer and have since found that they only have 2 pools that aren't prone to flood , because all others are right next to a river but as I said all the pools I've ever fished have never had a flood problem and I think some are missing the point I was warning others from making the same mistake and going down as it's blocked off my point being why doesn't baa just do a post on waters that are available or unavailable it took two minutes for me to make a post , there's just no communication via the website the announcements are out dated and far and few between and when people say phone the office it's not an option if the office opens at 9:39am and I have to leave at 5am to get to the waters ,, and I went yesterday expecting the water to have gone down by now as it's been fairly dry over this week just fancied something different and decided to go to ukinghall for some Zander and pike ,

Re: My the pool/ ukinghall

One thing I said after a visit to Stubs was that if they could sort the track there I would definitely help out dragging the weed out it's just my car struggles down the track the front splitter catches all the way down so couldn't risk getting stuck down there lol but would love to get this lake cleaned and back to its former glory

Re: My the pool/ ukinghall

Yh hopefully as I went to fish stubs this year and the weed was terrible this was another water I wanted to fish but couldn't ddue to access as the weed was terrible , but surely only having 2 pools not situated by a river is definitely an area they can look at so we have a bit more choice to fish as when the rivers decide to burst means that nearly all but a few place are unfishable for a huge part of the year giving that most people work and can often only get the odd few days to fish doesn't really leave people much options , but the website isn't updated that regular to tell people that pools are closed , I went to stubs a few times and it was unfishable due to really dense weed , but there wasn't a mention of this and this pool was one of the only reasons I wanted to join if I would have known in advance I would have not purchased a permit until the pool was available , but I thought hey there's plenty of others to go at , but as yet have only been able to fish coppice although I have to say coppice is an excellent lake and has been great fishing with plenty of 20lbs carp

Re: My the pool/ ukinghall

I would but the office is not open till mine and it's a fair old drive to any of the waters from where i live I wouldn't be able to set off after nine , and still get a decent days fishing in , and I'm a new member so haven't had time to look at all the pools , maybe just a simple heads up on the site would be good enough to let anglers know before them setting out for an early start and hundreds of miles wasted can be prevented by a simple announcement on the site , only one announcement about flooding in the news section, ukinghall is completely unreachable let alone fishable , since joining I've only been able to fish 1 out if the 4 pools I wanted to target this year , coppice is the only one I have fished , Stubs is full of weed and has problems , but no mention on the announcements, and my the and ukinghall struggle to drain most of the year round just seems like the baa can't be bothered with the pools apart from coppice because it's earning money from night permits

My the pool/ ukinghall

Just to let you know guys the tracks to gain access to both these pools are severely flooded , I drove a 120 mile round trip to a complete waste of time , so save your fuel as you won't be able to fish these pools due to heavy flooding
