Re: Stanford Bridge

Craig, thank you for such a detailed response, that's really helpful and if I can join you I most certainly will. Thanks also for your hard work in keeping our fisheries managed. Hope to see you on the bank soon!

Stanford Bridge

Hi,

Just been for a recce along the stretch of the Teme at Stanford Bridge with a few autumn trips in mind; I seem to recall not so long ago there were some cracking swims in the second upstream meadow (I particularly remember a couple where the bank had partially subsided offering slightly easier than normal access), but it would appear these have now been left overgrown - and boy they most certainly are! Does anyone know if there are any plans to open these back up a bit? And if not, what's the club's view on members creating their own swims on wild sections of river?

Thanks, and tight lines everyone!

Re: uckinghall pool

Been a couple of times this season (and returning later this week), it's not a prolific water but there are some good tench and bream to be had. Last season I saw some decent roach shoals about too but not so much this season. Had most of my success float fishing or float leger in the margins or close to the lilies. Standard baits (eg corn, bread, worms etc.) all seem to do the business.

Tight lines if you give it a go - if nothing else it's a lovely place to be.
