Hey @BarbelGod,
Thanks for the tips!
I went down to Eardiston this morning and found the small gravel beach you spoke of (the rest of the bank downstream was far too steep for me).
It's a nice spot and plenty of room for flying fishing from the beach however the water seemed very fast and maybe slightly high. I wasn't sure if this was common or not, or if the conditions were not right, unfortunately had no luck so far! Will keep trying

Hey there!
I'm really hoping to catch my first Grayling on the fly/nymph.
Unfortunately I don't have any waders and so before I make the long drive to Eastham or Lindridge, I was wondering if these stretches of water could be fly fished successfully from the bank?
Kind regards

Hey Stew, thanks for replying!
Yeah that is where I am a bit confused as the license I have is "Trout, coarse fish and eel licence", which covers non-migratory trout.
So I just wanted to confirm that the BAA waters allow lure fishing during the Coarse Close season, and if so then I think my license covers fishing for those kinds of trout?
BAA recommend to ask in the forums first but I may drop them an email just to confirm as really don't want to do something I shouldn't

Hey everyone,
I am really keen to give Trout lure fishing a go with light tackle (as something different to fly fishing on lakes) and I am a member of BAA.
I was wondering is Trout lure fishing allowed during the March-June Close Season on rivers like the Teme, Lugg and Upper Severn?
Also, would these be the best places to try catching Brown Trout with a lure with a BAA membership?
Thanks

Hey guys,
I have recently joined BAA and have been super excited to start fishing the waters.
I fished the EA Stretch at Upton for a number of days, using a variety of lures aiming for pike.
I wasn't able to get any bites, and I have experienced the same as I have started fishing the BAA stretch at Ripple. I am yet to catch anything in the Severn unfortunately!
Is this common or could it be totally because of my technique? If anyone has any tips, I would love to hear them, either in this forum post or through a private message. Just looking for my first Severn Pike!
Kind regards,
j
