I've lure fished on the staffs/worcs canal numerous times although haven't been particularly successful. I've fished around Stourton and Wolverley mainly.
Other than that I havent fished a lot on canals and when I have I've just pulled up skimmers on corn. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of carp or tench fishing on the canal and which areas I would be likely to find them? I don't expect anyone to give up any secret spots! also any tactics and bait used would be very helpful
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Thanks for all the responses, I will have to try the stack pool
I know someone who has been on the freeliners waiting list for about 3 years! So I don't think I'd have much of a chance for a while and I don't think they do day ticket any more
I will have to give Mythe a go, I was planning on trying Uckinghall for predators in the winter but didn't want to go too far with covid
I did try the KDAA pool a couple of weeks ago but just had 1 bream all day and nobody else caught but it was still a bit cold so I will try that again

It says that there are tench at Nordley, I fished there last year for carp and didn't have much luck, has anyone had any tench there?
Anyone know how it is fishing in general?
I might have to give it a go in the next couple of weeks.

Does anyone know how the pools are fishing at the moment?
I've been planning to go after some tench but I'm not sure which the best pool(s) would be?
Is it still a bit too cold for them?
Which method and bait is best to use?
Thanks

Hello all,
I've fished at Nordley with limited success (I had two carp on pool 4 from the snags and was the only one to catch) and Coppice Lake and blanked (didn't see anyone else catch either), both using the method feeder
I was wondering how the other BAA pools were fishing, especially Retreat Farm.
Any advice on fishing them would be appreciated as a relative newcomer to lake fishing
Thanks
