Re: Fundraising for Birmingham Children's Hospital

Hi Berty,
so good to hear, I hope the pending bike ride on the 12th Sept goes well for Siobhan and the other riders and they raise loads of cash for such a good cause..... Good luck to all.
I for one will be donating my friend.

Re: Coppice Carp with damaged mouths

Youngun. Physically exahuasted? NEVER! And as for re-generation for their mouths to reform after one year of the BAA buying the lake...... come on! The first couple of years there wasn't the abundance of anglers there are now fishing the lake. Maybe "dragging them across the surface" is a slight exaggeration but seeing ppl have hardly any drag on their reels is not, same goes for the 25Lb plus sea line left about the swims!!!!

Re: Coppice Carp with damaged mouths

The damage to the Coppice lake carp mouths happened the year after the BAA bought the lake. All carp in the first year were immaculate.
Personally I don't think it has any thing to do with hook sizes, barbed or barbless hooks but the size of line breaking strain used by anglers ( witnessed myself people dragging them in across the surface several times and also the thickness of discarded line left lying about on the bank )
Perhaps certain people need to have a fish care course of some kind? For me the great thing about fishing is using a suitable breaking strain of line and playing fish for as long as it takes to bank ie if they wanna run let em!
