Re: Avon MeadowsThats the one...thanks Johnny. At least it means that I'm not going mad. Be great if anyone out there knows who is running the stretch now as it's well worth the killer walk

Avon MeadowsHi Guys. I am looking for a bit of help from someone that might remember an old BAA fishery (I think). When I was younger I seem to remember going to avon meadows. Now I know that it was a very long walk (we used to get the farmer to take us over on the back of his tractor for matches), and the fishing was patchy but some very good roach sport. I think it was around Stratford but I not sure about that bit. Does anyone else know of this venue or have I imagined it? If so does anyone know the location and who is running it these days please? Even Google hasn't managed to help me with this one for a change

Re: Clubs that focus on river matches?Yes oldmonkey....I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone. Hope there is a response on here as I would also be interested. Would the BAA be permitted to let us know about clubs that fish predominantly rivers or would that be some sort of breach of confidentially? Come on Mr. Williams, help us out

Re: Twisted Hooklength on RiversHooklengths are generally between 6in and 12in....does this affect the twisting then? I have been using Preston PowerLine as I always used this on commercials....I am guessing that this isn't ideal. Is there a good low diameter hooklength to use with my Drennan Float Fish mainline? I had never thought about a swivel.....this does sound like a helpful ideal though, and Dave Harrell is the river king

Twisted Hooklength on RiversHelp. The last few times that I have been out on the rivers I have been having a lot of problems with my hooklength twisting. Fishing the stick float with a single maggot and it still ravels up to nothing. Any idea how I can stop this please?
