Re: New lake

As you say Reg it will be interesting to find the fish when the floods abate. Even the lower canal at Warwick was flooded, now the Avon is emptying the Severn is going to be dreadfull. Thanks for the CRT info. The nearest BAA pond to me is Coppice how does that usually perform in normal conditions?

Re: New lake

That is a good idea. Some years ago I used to fish the Union canal a lot ( in the Warwick area) when the upper Avon was out of sorts and there used to be some good roach/hybrids/ bream/perch and common carp. That was before the Mink, Cormorants and Zander found them, I have no idea what it is like now, maybe I should give it a go. Hardly ever see anybody fishing it?

Re: New lake

Does that rule apply to lake fishing?
One expert has already complained he canot pop his meat into his usual hole.
Another one said he is looking for some where dry to fish?

New lake

The BAA always wanted a lake at Manor, they have one now.
See photo.

Re: Up to date river pollution levels Warwick/Stratford area.

It has taken me over a week to successfully log on I just wanted to comment that the local rag had an article re; sewage dumping in the upper Avon. It states that their were 980 dumps into the river in 2022 totalling 5717 hours also 210 dumps into the Leam (910 hours). They say that averages as 2.7 discharges per day. It does not mention what was dumped into the Finham brook or the Dene or Sowe. Totally amazed that anything at all is alive in the Avon. Utterly disgracefull. Later on in June I went to Saxon Mill weir with the better half and took photos of the effluent foam cascading down the river. I had not fished there for quite a while and thought I had been transported back to the foam years of the 60's. One of the local staff said it had been like that for several years.
