Re: Winter float fishing

Hi Mick why not try Arley upstream the match guys fish a lot of float only matches around here so im guessing it lends itself for your style of fishing. Let us know how you get on either way all the best DaveH

Re: Chassing a Big Perch

Wick is worth a try for a monster. I fished the pegs opposite the boats catching small roach on the float I thought I had a zander in the peg turns out it was a monster perch chasing my fish had one knocking 2lb that day but never hooked his big brother.

Re: Predator Strteches

Fladbury below the bridge was and probably still is prolific. Ive not fished it this year, but I would always carry a few spinners with me as sooner or later you always get pike trouble when course fishing.

A few years back I hooked a jack while pole fishing and the lad on the next peg was playing one on the feeder confused. Can also be good for some big pike on dead baits sure there are some pictures in the what we have caught section. The very last peg at Fladbury has produced the odd zander and also holt fleet weir used to hold quite a lot good luck

Re: Repair to track at Salford priors

For me I think as I suggested a good few years ago now,
and the BAA did can we send a questionnaire out with ever membership, asking,

What venues do you fish?
What species people are fishing for?
what type of fishing do you enjoy?
What do you want from a venue?
How many times a year do you go fishing?
What type of venue would you like the BAA to acquire next?
How far are you willing to travel if the venue fits your criteria?

The questions can keep going.

I always wanted to fish the Wye and I remember a good few years back now asking a lovely guy on the Baa stand at Evesham why don't we have a venue on the Wye? Can we get a venue on the Wye? To which he answered no point people will not travel its to far.

Well it seems to me that the stretch we now have on the Wye is a very popular stretch and people will travel if a venue fits your requirements.

If you don't understand the needs of your members how can a club grow and move forward?

And if people can't be bothered to get involved and return a questionnaire then they should not moan about future decisions on venues If the club lets them go.

Just my thoughts anyway guys

All the best Dave
