Re: Handsacre

I thought you did have to hold a Baa card if you were fishing a match on baa waters??? Confused Our club states you must have a Baa card. Ive had a card for over 20 years now anyway.

As far as Handsacre is concerned Ive fished it 3 times now and the most ive caught is 2 perch and a roach.

Never fished it in the winter which I'm told is the best time to fish it. Not fished it this season.

You will get about 4 pegs in some of the locals fish it and there are a few pegs the depth is all on the inside it shallows up as you pass half way.

Last time I fished it a local came down with a bucket of corn hemp and meat and pre baited underneath a tree on the inside one peg above the power lines.( I was fishing the power lines) He was going to return for an evening session and told me he had been having some good chub. I asked him if any barbel came out and he said on the odd occasion.

Whoever had been fishing the cables before me had left a load of line capable of catching a shark in my opinion.

Re: Walsall And District A.S Fladbury bellow bridge

Cheers pal keep a look out on the FB page today or tomorrow.

Deano has been back to wick today and had 6 pike lost 2 and one zander biggest pike of the day went 16lb 8oz and all from the same peg. Hopefully we will keep the FB page regularly updated especially going into next season.

I had a 25lb catch of all roach a few weeks back from Pershore but sadly was on my own that day so didn't get a photo.

Tight lines all the best Dave

Walsall And District A.S Fladbury bellow bridge

Well for our final match on the rivers for 2021 we descended on Fladbury.

To be honest I was expecting a really hard match, but with mild temperatures and extra water and plenty of colour small fish fed all along the stretch.

The venue was pegged from the bottom back towards the bridge.
With the field below the bridge not pegged.

It was a very close match between pegs 2 and 3 going fish for fish most of the match with catches made up of small Roach Dace and the odd tiny chub.

1ST D HARLEY 6-4-0
2ND D CHAPMAN 5-13-0
3RD A BENNETT 4-9-0

Walsall And District A.S Staffs/Worcs Canal Swindon

A poor match for whatever reasons, temps were good but the fish felt very cold. The resident chub just didn't show leaving not much else being caught.

1ST A MATEJIC 2-6-0
2ND D HARLEY 2-0-8
3RD H BIRD 1-3-0
4TH G GODDARD 1-2-0

Walsall And District A.S River Avon Wick

Been looking forward to this match for a while fishing above the weir at Wick. Sadly though the match fished really hard for whatever reason, the gin clear water or the cold rain we had who knows. Pike were a pain, a few of us being pestered throughout the match.

1st Stevie James 17lb 8oz ( another stella performance from steve took a gamble and sat it out
on the feeder for 3 bream to win comfortably biggest of the bream went
7lb.

2nd Alan Price 6lb 7oz ( mixed bag of roach perch skimmers )

3rd David Harley 5lb 2oz ( mainly roach catch but spent most of the match feeding the pike crying

We go again next match in two weeks time on the canal. Anyone interested in a local friendly club for next year get in touch via our facebook page smiling
ATB Dave
