Re: Have the BAA not learnt any lessons?

This just seems like absolute madness to me.

If the bank is that bad and its that difficult to create a good fishable platform then simply don't put one in.

What is the point of putting all that time and effort into creating a platform that's pretty much useless. As for those shallow pegs take a number of pallets and go out into the water. Once you have one pallet in place its easy to work your way out.

Surely time and resources would be better spent creating good quality fishable pegs if that means a stretch of river only had say 10-20 good quality pegs then so be it, but at least everybody would no, and be sure of a safe and happy days fishing.

Lets face it 99% of club matches these days are made up of between 10-20 anglers and none of us are getting any younger.

As for putting 2 platforms in one for flooded rivers and one for normal levels forget that its hard enough to get one quality peg never mind 2 and a total waste of time effort and resources.

Lets face it those dedicated barbel anglers who go out in flood water conditions already have their areas and spots they know from past experience that they will target.

Whats needed moving forward is for an experienced angler with a competent personality to watch over these projects.

Re: Fish theft from canals

Its getting out of hand in some areas with even boats being used and all sorts.

A number of staked dead lines have been removed from our own water on the Trent and Mersey canal canal this year, and I saw a post just the other day where a bailiff on the black country canals had to ask a poacher to return a number of bream he had in buckets and bags.

WALSALL AND DISTRICT A.S RIPPLE RIVER SEVERN

1st L PILE 5-14-0

2ND S JAMES 5-8-8

3RD A MATEJIC 4-0-8

4TH A BENNETT 3-12-0

Well order of the day was to try not to fry in the crazy heat of 30'
My maggots were all dead within two hours it was that hot.

Considering the extreme heat the match didn't fish that bad with small skimmers and odd bream making up the weights, with the odd roach and boot laces for good measure.

Some good fish were seen rolling through out the day and in better conditions im sure weights would have been much better. We go again!

Re: WALSALL AND DISTRICT A.S MANOR FARM WASPERTON

I dont think the weather helped our match to be honest the temps dropped quite a bit that weekend. We have Ripple next weekend so hopefully a better match. Tight lines everyone

Re: Fladbury below bridge

The Avon is solid with pike has been for a number of year, Fladbury especially. I fished pershore rb last year and had two big doubles one either side of my keep net. People walking along the bank could see them.
