Re: Repair to track at Salford priors

I don't expect tarmac tracks, but a track I can take the car down without having to call out a tow truck or have suspension repairs.
I attempted it once but barely got 30 yards as I headed towards the river and wasn't prepared to risk going any further, so was a waste of time.

Re: Canal chub Staffs/Worcs

From what I've gathered off the locals and those that seem to know it better than I do, they say below Swindon it's more skimmers, roach, perch etc, with the odd chub.
You could check through the past match results for more info. I think they are great posts for infomation.

Re: Canal chub Staffs/Worcs

I hear going north of Swindon they're catching them. I went Swindon in Febrauary and was advised by the locals to leave it till it gets milder.

Re: Birmingham-Worcester canal, Grange Lane, Alvechurch

Obviously it'll fish different in a match, but there's plenty of fish there to be had. I just wouldn't recommend over feeding

Re: Birmingham-Worcester canal, Grange Lane, Alvechurch

Fished it Saturday, south of the bridge down in the woods.Put in a nugget of groundbait and a couple of pinkies to kick things off but only had a couple of gudgeon.
After about an hour, I fed 3 golf ball sized balls of groundbait and about 20 pinkies, and fed about 5 pinkies every put in, and started to catch more regular, but mainly small roach.
Later I fed a worm line at 11m fishing 18" deep, and caught a better stamp of roach and a couple of skimmers.
The perch must be spawning somewhere as I never saw one.

It's pretty shallow even by canal standards. Any boat passing will spread a bed of bait.
